On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Beafrika Foundation proudly hosted its International Women’s Day celebration at 5020 Sunnyside Ave, Suite 101 in Beltsville, Maryland. Centered on the theme “Her Power, Our Progress — Empowering Women, Empowering Communities,” the gathering brought together community members, leaders, and change-makers for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to celebrating women’s leadership, resilience, and impact.

The event featured powerful speakers and a dynamic panel of women and allies whose work spans entrepreneurship, healthcare, law, media, education, real estate, faith leadership, and community development.

The program opened with a powerful keynote by Dr. Chichi Nwajei, Founder and CEO of The Peacock House, optometrist, entrepreneur, and host of The Dr. Chichi Show. She delivered an inspiring message on leadership, resilience, and purpose, setting the tone for a meaningful and uplifting experience that encouraged attendees to lead with intention and embrace their personal journeys.

The event also featured an engaging panel discussion with Angela Enwezor, Nanythe Talani, Erica Njehoya, and Dr. Elisabeth Ngatchou. Together, they shared powerful insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact. Their diverse experiences sparked thoughtful conversations and offered practical inspiration for women at every stage of their personal and professional journeys.

We were honored by the presence of State’s Attorney Tara H. Jackson as a distinguished guest. A dedicated legal professional committed to justice, integrity, and community service, her attendance underscored the importance of leadership, public service, and strong community engagement, reinforcing the value of collective action in driving meaningful change.

This gathering was a space of empowerment, dialogue, and connection. Through inspiring voices, cultural expression, and meaningful networking, we were reminded of the power of women and allies working together to drive progress.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all speakers, panelists, attendees, sponsors, and partners who made this celebration possible. Your presence and support helped transform this day into a meaningful experience of learning, reflection, and inspiration.

At Beafrika Foundation, we remain committed to uplifting women and strengthening communities. Together, we will continue to celebrate her power and advance our progress.
